I am a UBC certified Internet professional with more than 12 years experience designing for web and print. I am a designer with a geeky side that loves to write code. I most often work with clients on every stage of the development and execution of their web presence. I design from scratch or provide customized templates and web applications. I currently work on contract and regularly provide marketing, design and web services for a local mortgage brokerage.

I have done everything from designing simple web sites to working on the design of web-enabled ticketing and inventory systems and flash interfaces for an engineering firms database. My experience has included extensive work in designing printed media for newspapers, magazines, postcards, flyers, transit ads and even trade-show booths. Variety is the spice of life!

I thoroughly enjoy the process of helping people and businesses create and manage their internet presence. I am a pragmatic strategist by nature, and I love the process of helping clients to understand how to develop and work their internet plans. I am enthusiastic and curious and an innovator by nature.

I have also spent lots of time managing and training people, leading teams, organizing and managing business. I worked with Earl’s restaurants for many years as a General Manager and with Playdium Entertainment as Operations and then Marketing Manager. I have also been involved in the production of numerous special events (of up to 2200 people) and have worked in positions from Event Manager to Creative Co-Director.

Design-wise, I love and appreciate clean, functional designs and understand the balance required between presentation and usability. I am currently working on my first mobile application for google's Android platfrom! I'll be rich any minute now.

Out On The Slopes produces the Whistler gay & lesbian ski week, the largest annual revenue and attendance event in Whistler BC, with over thirty events and productions occurring in a nine-day period. My responsibilities included marketing and advertising, communications, client service, inter-departmental communications and more. I worked closely with accounting, production and operations to ensure this internationally recognized event continues to flourish.

As Assistant General Manager, I was in charge of human resources, staff and management training, internal culture development and operations. I was involved with Playdium since it’s introduction to British Columbia, opening the facility on time with over 200 staff in six departments, within a very tight time-frame. I created organizational structures to successfully manage staff training and evaluations and daily operations of the facility, consulted with the General manager on the development of corporate culture and negotiated on behalf of Playdium Entertainment Corporation with the Canadian Auto Workers Union, ultimately resulting in decertification.
